Join an Incredible Day of Camaraderie and Sportsmanship with the Carry the Torch Fundraiser on Sept. 9

Enjoy a special day of camaraderie and sportsmanship while helping charities that enrich the lives of Northwoods residents by participating in the Carry The Torch Fundraiser on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the historic Gateway Gun Club and Lodge in Land O’ Lakes, Wis.

The fundraiser, hosted by Lake of the Torches Resort Casino, will include a morning of practice shooting and instruction from four-time All American Champion John Muir, along with a trapshooting competition on one of the best courses in the Midwest. After a delicious lunch inside the Gateway Restaurant, participants will compete in a sporting clays tournament on one of the Midwest’s top-rated courses. Sportsmen and trap-shooters of all skill levels are welcome to take part in the tournament.

In addition, participants can enter into several raffles for the chance to win terrific merchandise from businesses throughout the Lakeland area and plaques will be awarded to top tournament shooters. Sponsorships are welcome from businesses and individuals who cannot participant in the event, but who wish to help meet the fundraising goal for the charities.

Proceeds from this special event will be donated to the Lakeland Pantry, the Northwoods United Way, the Lac du Flambeau Youth Center and the Wisconsin Central Chapter of the American Red Cross. Each of these important charities provides crucial services that brighten the lives of residents here in the Northwoods. “Join us for this incredible day of sportsmanship and goodwill right in the heart of the Northwoods,” said Lake of the Torches’ Director of Marketing Leana Schlecht. “These charities play an important role in enriching the lives of Northwoods residents and we invite you to help us reach our fundraising goal of $20,000 for these organizations.”
