Carry the Torch Classic and Northwoods Wine & Cheese Events to Support Northwoods Charities

Lake of the Torches Resort Casino invites residents and visitors to attend the Carry the Torch Classic and Northwoods Wine & Cheese, both of which will help benefit four area charities that make a critical difference in the lives of area residents.

Sportsmen and shooting enthusiasts are invited to the Carry the Torch Classic which will be held Thursday, Sept. 19, at the historic Gateway Gun Club and Lodge in Land O’ Lakes. The daylong event will include a morning of orientation and practice led by John Muir, a four-time All-American trap champion. After a delicious lunch, participants will compete in a sporting clays competition along with chance to win top-quality raffle prizes. Then, enjoy an elegant evening of good wines, cheeses and good will with the Northwoods Wine & Cheese event on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Hall of Nations Convention Center at Lake of the Torches. Taste a variety of wine vintages and cheeses from across the region in an inviting atmosphere. Participants can talk to individual wine and cheese makers and purchase their products. Proceeds from both events will benefit the Lakeland Pantry, the Northwoods United Way, the Northcentral Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Lac du Flambeau Youth Center. These charities play an important role in enriching the lives of residents across the area.
